She slowly makes her way into the deepest, darkest spot in the forest
In the background she caught glimpse of two faint lights coming from a small cottage
In the cottage a deceitful man she knows all too well sits next to a feminine figure
She sits and waits pledging allegiance to the pain in her heart
She spots her husband making his way back to the safety of their home with a smug look on his face
It was than that he spotted her car and froze in place
She weighs her options as he begins to speak;
I am only human can’t you see
I made a mistake, but you can forgive me
She cuts the headlights and she is blinded by darkness again
She can’t fight her demons for they know how to swim.
I love the last line. ‘She can’t fight her demons, and they know how to swim’ very intriguing
